Beginners Tennis

Welcome

This class is for players who are ready for a challenge! For this intermediate class, players should already have good stroke fundamentals and be ready to learn how to increase their consistency as well as learn offensive and defensive tennis. You will be taught techniques to dictate play, first and second serve placement, and help you refine your timing. This class will include point play against others through a combination of drills and matches.

Intermediate Tennis

This class is for those who have not played before or are just getting started. You will learn all the basics of the game including: strokes, rules, scoring, footwork and tennis etiquette. Classes will include ball feeding drills, live-ball hitting with other classmates, and personal stroke instruction.

 

By the end of the class, you will have learned the grips and basic stroke of the forehand, backhand, serve, volley, and overhead shots. You will also be introduced to effective ways to practice as well as fundamental singles and doubles positioning and play.

 

Points play will be introduced gradually.

 

Cardio Tennis

Cardio Tennis is a healthy workout that combines high energy keep fit routines while hitting tennis balls. You don’t need to be a great tennis player, beginners are welcome, just need bags of enthusiasm to run and hit. The great thing about this is that while you are getting fit you are also becoming a better tennis player without even knowing about it!

 

Cardio Tennis is similar to interval training which is periods of high intensity followed by short periods of rest.  Interval training is the best way to train for optimal health and fitness
